General information

The International Institute for the Advanced Studies of Psychotherapy and Applied Mental Health with the generous support of the Albert Ellis Institute, New York, USA, is pleased to launch the “Albert Ellis Award Program for Research in the Theory and Practice of Rational-Emotive and Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapies”.

Albert Ellis is one of the main originators of the “cognitive revolution” in psychotherapy. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is the oldest form of cognitive behavioral psychotherapy (CBT), created by Albert Ellis in 1955. Based on his revolutionary work, the field was latter enriched by the development of other influential forms of cognitive behavioral psychotherapies (e.g., Aaron Beck’s cognitive therapy, Donald Meichenbaum’s cognitive behavior modifications). The Albert Ellis Award aims to recognize and encourage the brightest among the rising generation of young researchers who share an interest in cognitive behavioral psychotherapies. Basically, the Award invites applications to expand research on the theory and practice of CBT/REBT.

The current Albert Ellis Award Program for Research in the Theory and Practice of Rational-Emotive and Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapies includes: The Albert Ellis Award for Young Professionals (1000 USD).
