Professional Training Programs of the International Institute PDF Print E-mail

Training programs in psychotherapy are organized by the International Institute through the Romanian Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies (Romanian Association of CBT), -the oldest and the largest Romanian society/organization of CBT and a component of the Division of Training of the International Institute-, and through its Romanian Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies (renamed in 2007 as the Center for Evidence-Based Assessment and Psychotherapy). The Division of Trainings is made up by all Faculty members of the International Institute. The coordinator of the Division is Dr. Daniel David. The Romanian Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies is a Training Center of both the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, USA and the Albert Ellis Institute, USA.

The Romanian Association of CBT is a member of both national accreditation bodies in psychotherapy:

as well as in the international accreditation bodies:

and therefore, we endorse their certification criteria. Thus, our training programs are recognized by all these accrediting bodies. Moreover the training program in rational-emotive & cognitive-behavioral psychotherapies is also certified by the Albert Ellis Institute, New York, USA whereas the training program in cognitive therapy is accredited (as the first phase application) by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, USA.

To date, we have trained over 600 Romanian professionals (psychologists and psychiatrists) in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapies at primary, advanced, or professional levels, and we have organized over 50 workshops on various topics related to evidence-based psychotherapy, all over Romania.

We offer full training programs or workshops in:

  • cognitive and behavioral psychotherapies - Cognitive Therapy-
  • cognitive and behavioral psychotherapies - Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy-
  • cognitive and behavioral psychotherapies - Behavioral Therapy-

Additionally, full training programs or workshops also include other forms of evidence-based psychotherapies (e.g., acceptance & commitment therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, schema-focused therapy), including cognitive-behavioral hypnosis and hypnotherapy. During the training programs the trainees will become Associate members of the Romanian Association of CBT and, after the completion of the training program, they can become Full members of the Romanian Association of CBT.

The Overall Structure of the Full Training Programs

Our training programs are designed to give certification for:
